Here me out: Trench coats are to outerwear as April 25th are to dates. As in the most ideal layer, easily wear them alone on top of a sweater or t-shirt, or layer an even warmer overcoat on top through those extra chilly days. Trench coats don’t scream professional like your favorite blazer does, but are also more daytime than a leather jacket, and less nighttime than a denim one.
I can continue ranting about the versatility of a trench coat, but I think you get it. They are “just right”. The stuff of Goldilock’s dreams.
I’ve clearly spent some time convincing myself that trench coats are the answer to a problem I didn’t even know I had. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but isn’t it comforting during these corona filled times to remember – even if only for a second what our daily qualms and thoughts used to consist of.
