A common thought keeps hitting me during this quarantine. Not only do I have nowhere to go, but I have nothing to get ready for. I also have nobody around me, and not a single ounce of sanity left, but those two are besides the point.
The lack of somewhere or something to get ready for has hit me so much harder than I expected. I, like many people, thought I would relish in the freedom to be makeup free, leave my nails alone, and let me hair do whatever it wants. Instead, I find myself missing all of these little steps I take before leaving my house
Are all the cliches correct? Is the journey just as (if not more?!?!) important than the destination? I’ll leave you to savor that food-for-thought and point out that I’m not the only one who seems to be yearning for the days of getting ready. In fact, a trend I’ve noticed from these Mexican influencers proves that people are shunning their messy ways and actually taking their time these days while getting ready. Hairstyles, arguably, have the most to gain in any beauty routine from this extra time. The perfect curls, updos, and braids, all require patience and practice, and now we have lots of time for the latter. Say goodbye to messy buns and say hello to the stylized bun. These mexican influencers have me convinced that there are a ton of unique ways to style your bun. Keep scrolling for inspo.

If you’re someone (like me) that usually prefers wearing there hair down, get the best of both worlds with a have updo like influencer Paola Berdi did here.

A slicked high ballerina bun screams chic. Take a cue from instagram user Luisa Fernanda Keep things simple for your next updo.

Okay, this look is technically a ponytail, but the same idea can be used for a low bun. Jazz up your next hairstyle with a ton of fun barrettes like Creative Director Daniela Salcedo did here.

Kimberly Loaiza makes a case for not one, but two buns. Style yours with a middle part and whispy baby hairs.

Simple and chic is the name of instagram user’s Chantal Tru’s game. Next time you want to look put together in breeze, try out this simple slicked back bun.
Will you be giving up your messy bun?
